Impact analysis of thin metal plates is essential in aviation (e.g. bird strike) and defense engineering. In this thesis, the projectile is assumed to be rigid body, while the metal plate is deformable. Several aspects are investigated, i.e. the influence of angle of attack and profile of the projectile on the ballistic limit (i.e. the necessary velocity for complete penetration).
