In this thesis, extension of an available finite element model of concrete-filled steel tubular column is proposed, by consideration of residual stress and geometric imperfections. The axial compression capacity predicted by the current model is closer to experimental data than the model without consideration of residual stress and geometric imperfections. It is also observed that the rectangular/square cross sections are more sensitive to residual stress and geometric imperfections than the circular cross sections.
